Dr. Michelakis is a physician scientist, cardiologist, and Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta. He is known internationally for his work on mitochondria, metabolism, pulmonary hypertension, heart disease and cancer biology.

He currently serves in leadership roles in cardiovascular research at the University of Alberta and has published extensively in major biomedical journals.

Dr. Jayan Nagendran is a cardiothoracic surgeon, surgeon‑scientist, and academic leader at the University of Alberta. He serves as the Director of Cardiac Surgery and the Surgical Director of Lung Transplantation, as well as the Director of Research for the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.

His clinical and scientific work focuses heavily on heart and lung transplantation, advanced cardiothoracic surgery, and organ‑preservation technologies.

Linda J. Webster, MN, NP, MBA is a nurse practitioner, clinical researcher, and healthcare program leader with more than three decades of experience spanning direct patient care, cardiovascular and pulmonary research, and clinical program administration.

Ms. Webster holds a Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification. 

She is certified in Good Clinical Practice and holds a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt in Healthcare, along with board certifications through the Canadian Cardiovascular Nursing Certification.
